CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Dec. 2, 2025 – On this Giving Tuesday, UNC Health is donating $100,000 to food banks that serve communities across all 100 North Carolina counties.
“Our priority is improving the health and wellbeing of all North Carolinians and supporting these organizations in their efforts to provide food for people in need is one way we can do that,” said Dr. Cristy Page, CEO of UNC Health.
According to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, every 10 dollars donated provides 50 meals to the hungry in our state. To ensure statewide impact, the UNC Health contribution will be distributed to the following organizations:
- Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC
- MANNA Food Bank
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast NC
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
- Food Bank of the Albemarle
Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday inspires people to give time, a donation, or the power of their voice and celebrate generosity in communities.
