The Triangle’s premier professional golf tournament draws thousands of fans
RALEIGH, N.C. – April 28, 2026 – The UNC Health Championship, the Triangle’s top professional golf tournament, returns to Raleigh County Club, May 28-31. Tickets are now on sale and volunteers are still needed.
Thousands of fans are expected to attend the event, a key stop on the Korn Ferry Tour. More than 750 volunteers help run the tournament, which will feature tomorrow’s PGA TOUR stars from around the world.
“UNC Health is proud to serve as the title sponsor for one of our state’s most exciting sports and charity events,” said Dr. Cristy Page, CEO of UNC Health. “We’re grateful for the team of volunteers and sponsors that help make the tournament a success every year. Our partnership with the Korn Ferry Tour helps support our mission of improving the health and wellbeing of all North Carolinians.”
Proceeds from this year’s UNC Health Championship will support development of North Carolina Children’s. This new enterprise will include the state’s only freestanding children’s hospital. UNC Health is partnering with Duke Health on the project, which is expected to open on a campus in Apex, N.C., in the early 2030s.
This year’s tournament also supports local nonprofit partners including the Poe Center for Health Education, First Tee of the Triangle, SE Raleigh Promise, Alliance Medical Ministry, Wake County Boys and Girls Club, the Grayson Murray Foundation, Table – feeding local kids, Note in the Pocket, and the USO.
In remembrance of Raleigh native Grayson Murray, a past champion on the PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour, the Murray family and the UNC Health Championship will hold an honorary tee time on Sunday, May 31 at 2:30 p.m. on the tee box of hole No. 10. This event will be an opportunity for family, friends, special guests and attendees to share a moment of remembrance, followed by brief remarks.
Multiple pro golfers with North Carolina connections are expected to compete this year, including:
- Taylor Dickson, a Gastonia native who won The Bahamas Golf Classic in January to open the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season.
- Dylan Menante, who played college golf at UNC-Chapel Hill and won his first Korn Ferry Tour event in Mexico in April.
