Lee joins UNC Hospitals from UVA Medical Center in Virginia.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – June 2, 2026 – Min Lee has been named President, UNC Hospitals, effective July 20, 2026. In this role, Lee will lead UNC Hospitals and will report directly to Chad Setliff, President, UNC Health Triangle Region, to integrate care for patients across the region.

Lee brings more than 15 years of progressive leadership across three major academic health systems. She began her career at Emory Healthcare, where she spent nearly a decade growing from frontline operations into executive leadership as Vice President of Operations at Emory University Hospital Midtown. From there, she was recruited to serve as Vice President of Operations at Reading Hospital – Tower Health in Pennsylvania. In 2022, she joined the University of Virginia, where she has served as Chief Operating Officer of UVA Medical Center.

Across each of these roles, Lee has established herself as a mission-driven executive leader and trusted physician partner who delivers results while remaining deeply committed to the people who care for patients, families, and communities every day.

“What stood out to me about Min throughout the search process was that she is able to combine an undisputed track record of delivering results, while also focusing on leading teams with compassion, clear communication, and a commitment to developing the next generation of leaders,” said Jeff Lindsay, UNC Health’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “I am confident that she is the right person to lead UNC Hospitals into the future, and I look forward to the positive impact she will have on our teams, our physicians, and the communities we are privileged to serve.”

Lee holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Health Administration from Georgia State University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently serves as Chair of the Premier COO Affinity Group. She brings to UNC Hospitals a powerful combination of academic medical center experience, strategic and operational capability, and a deep commitment to mission, people and community.

“UNC Hospitals’ mission is both extraordinary and deeply personal: to care for people in the moments that matter most, to advance what is possible, and to serve North Carolina with purpose,” Lee said. “I am honored to join UNC Health and look forward to working alongside the physicians, teammates, leaders and partners who bring that mission to life every day.”
