The 12-week, expert-led program for cancer patients consists of cardio, strength, balance and flexibility training.

Fifty-five-year-old Jennifer Fusco went through a lot all at once when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It seemed like her life was out of control.
In addition to chemotherapy treatment, she went through a complicated surgery and the last thing she wanted to do was exercise. As she explains in an interview with WRAL TV, UNC Health’s Get Real and Heel program became a central part of her recovery.
The Get Real and Heel program is celebrating its 20th year. It is supported by UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Patients can learn more about the program at unclineberger.org/getrealandheel.
