Kelly to serve as Interim Chair for Department of Pediatrics
Kevin J. Kelly, MD, has been named Interim Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Interim Physician-in-Chief of UNC Children’s effective March 18. Kelly accepts the role from Wesley Burks, MD, who will step down to focus on his role as the School of Medicine’s Executive Dean.

In her life in the United States, she has performed groundbreaking biochemistry research in the lab of Duke Nobel Prize winner Paul Modrich, but she found her calling when she became a pediatric nurse at North Carolina Children's Hospital.

Burks to step down as Chair of Department of Pediatrics and Physician-in-Chief of UNC Children’s
Wesley Burks, MD, has announced that he will step down from his position as chair of the Department of Pediatrics and physician-in-chief of UNC Children’s. He will continue to serve as executive dean of the School of Medicine.

An Education in Medical Simulation
Traditionally, graduate educational areas such as medicine, nursing, and pharmacy have driven UNC’s commitment to medical simulation on campus. Today, undergraduates may also participate in simulation through a new course taught by the School of Medicine’s Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center.
