UNC receives $3.1 million to study alternative strategies to reduce heart disease and stroke
UNC's Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention has received a two-year, $3.1 million grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research alternative ways to reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease.

VIDEO: A 'Miracle Baby' at UNC Hospitals
17-month old Jessiah Jackson was rushed to UNC Hospitals with a metal rod stuck in his brain. UNC neurosurgeon Dr. Anand V. Germanwala removed the rod and helped to save the little boy's life. Jessiah is being called a 'Miracle Baby' and has earned national attention along with Dr. Germanwala.

Chapel Hill Transit spring break schedule
Chapel Hill Transit will begin spring break service Saturday, March 5 and changes will last until Monday, March 14. The weekday CM, CW, D, J, NU and V routes will end earlier in the evening. The Saturday/Sunday U & NU routes will not operate. On Sunday, March 13, the U route will begin at 1:50 p.m. at the Carolina Coffee Shop and the NU route will begin at 1:45 p.m. at the PR lot.

Medical students make voices heard in N.C. Medicaid reform debate
More than 300 medical students representing every medical school in the state made their voices heard as they signed a petition letter to Governor Pat McCrory and the Medicaid Reform Advisory Group expressing their support for Community Care of North Carolina in the Medicaid reform debate.
