To ensure compatibility with Epic’s 2017 software, which will be installed July 22 as part of Go-Live #6, ISD will be upgrading the Dragon dictation software on workstations across UNC Health Care in June. The new version of Dragon was tested by both ISD and several providers.

Did you know that most users have a Learning Home dashboard in Epic@UNC that provides direct links to educational materials and resources specific to your role, including Tip Sheets, materials used in Epic@UNC Training, tips and tricks, etc.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, the Epic@UNC image hyperlinks at UNC Medical Center will transition from Impax to UNC Health Care's new viewer, called NIL. The NIL viewer offers the same Epic@UNC-based image accessibility and tool sets as Impax.

All Epic@UNC users can now access the outpatient Longitudinal Plan of Care (LPOC) for each patient. The LPOC is automatically-generated based on data already in the patient's chart and includes a summary of the patient's care, goals, and past/future encounters, the patient’s care team, etc.

Please always remember to close each patient’s chart when you finish your encounter. If you leave a patient’s chart open when you move on to other tasks, other users will be locked-out of that patient’s record.

Beginning Thursday, Dec. 8, employees who have email accounts at both UNC Health Care and the UNC School of Medicine will be prompted, by an email from noreply@unc.edu, to select a primary email account.

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 13, all employees will be able to access the Epic UserWeb using your UNC Health Care account (the same credentials you use to login to Epic@UNC, LMS, etc.).

New ‘Track My Health’ features in My UNC Chart allow patients to share data from their iPhone’s Health app to My UNC Chart and their provider. Data for blood pressure readings, exercise logs and peak flow values can be entered into the Health app and flow into My UNC Chart if the patient’s provider has ordered the appropriate flowsheet.

The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPAUP) recently changed the terminology and updated the stages of pressure injury and definitions. To reflect these updates, several updates were made in Epic@UNC.

As Human Resources transitions to support all owned UNC Health Care entities, the UNC Medical Center Employee Recreation department closed effective July 1, 2016. Most services offered through Employee Recreation will continue to be available to employees after July through the Hospitals and University benefits.
