After a review of the PEXIVAS trial, a large randomized clinical trial involving patients with ANCA vasculitis, Vimal K. Derebail, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine in the division of nephrology and hypertension, and Ronald J. Falk, MD, chair of the UNC Department of Medicine, have published their interpretation of these findings for patients with severe ANCA vasculitis and ANCA-induced pulmonary hemorrhage.

A new UNC Health Care clinic opened this month led by Monica Reynolds, MD, MSCR, assistant professor of medicine in nephrology, and Christina Herrera, MD, MSCI, assistant professor in the division of maternal-fetal-medicine, in the department of obstetrics and gynecology.

Alice Ma, MD, has announced a legacy gift to the UNC hematology fellows, a group she fondly considers her own. Ma's bequest will go to training in nonmalignant hematology.

Anil Kishin Gehi, MD, associate professor of medicine in the division of cardiology, has been awarded the Sewell Family-McAllister Distinguished Professorship in Electrophysiology. The professorship is designed to recognize an outstanding clinician, teacher, and scholar, who is a leader in the field of electrophysiology, from the division of cardiology and the UNC McAllister Heart Institute.

Abhijit V. Kshirsagar, MD, MPH, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology, has been awarded the Marion Stedman Covington Distinguished Professorship.
