UNC Family Medicine is celebrating the first graduates from its Federally Qualified Health Center Rural Health Track at Siler City. Morgan Layman, MD, Naeemah Munir, MD, MPH, and Emily Samson, MD, MPH, began their training as the inaugural class at Siler City Community Health Center in 2019.

Paul Shea, MD, has been named curriculum representative for simulation, experiential learning and training for the UNC School of Medicine. He will start his position in August 2022.

UNC Center for Galapagos Studies and Universidad San Francisco de Quito researchers hosted workshops to teach participants how to assemble and annotate genomes de novo. The workshop required high-powered linux environments for participants from twelve institutions and six countries. ITS and SOM-IT collaborated to deliver resources on-time and cost-efficiently.
