The newly remodeled Admissions/Registration office on the ground floor of Memorial Hospital (just off of the N.C. Memorial lobby) opened Monday, July 25. Signage and a volunteer will be at the former 1st Floor Memorial Registration area to guide patients to the new space as needed.

At its June 15 meeting, the Pardee Hospital Board of Directors unanimously approved an affiliation agreement with the UNC Health Care System. This management agreement can help achieve cost savings and increased services for residents of Henderson County.

Environmental Services has chosen new look: the team has moved from a tired navy blue scrub that had been part of the department for many years to a new two color tunic of brown and ceil blue for the ladies and a sharp polo and pants for the men.

Clinical staff will begin to see a new isolation sign on the patient care units. The new sign is Enteric Contact Precautions and is being used for patients who have active infection with C. difficile, rotavirus, or norovirus.

In our recent mock survey, questions were raised about the frequency of eyewash and emergency shower inspections. There are no regulations as to the frequency of inspections; however, UNC Health Care does have a policy that addresses the frequency for these inspections.

Effective with the Feb. 16 payday, a new system featuring electronic pay statements and forms will be available to all employees. Through this system, employees will have online access to pay history, W-2s, and payroll-related change forms.
