James Sanders, MD, has been named Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics, effective April, 2019. Ed Campion, MD, who has served as Chair since 2013, announced in March that he would retire after 33 years at the UNC School of Medicine.

Manning Drive will be closed to through traffic the weekends of Nov. 9-12 for the removal of the pedestrian bridge connecting the Cardinal Parking Deck, Tarrson Hall and West Drive. During the weekend Nov. 9, Manning Drive will be closed between South Columbia Street and East Drive from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be detoured along Mason Farm Road and East Drive. Pedestrians should remain alert to traffic changes and follow designated pedestrian detours.
