"Partnering with Patients and Families" webinar

You are invited to a webinar sponsored by the Institute of Patient and Family Centered Care this Thursday, May 12, from 1 - 2:30 p.m. in MacNider 321. The topic of the webinar is "Hospitals and Communities Advancing Patient and Family Centered Care: A Beginners Guide." The space in MacNider holds up to 90 people, so please pass this information along to anyone who may be interested in learning more about Patient and Family Centered Care.

Also, we encourage you to invite any potential patient and family advisors who may be interested in learning more about ways that UNC Health Care can Partner with Patients and Families. Learn more about the webinar at this link.

As a reminder, "Partnering with Patients and Families" (PPF) is an approach to the planning, delivery and evaluation of health care that is a mutually beneficial partnership among patients, families and the health care team. PPF, sometimes referred to as “Patient and Family Centered Care,” is our method of including our patients and their families in decision-making. PPF’s basic tenet is that care can be improved through significantly increased involvement of patients and families in decisions affecting their own care, as well as influencing the development of care delivery systems and programs through membership on partnership boards and committees.

PPF is not a new and different initiative, rather a welcome opportunity to further enhance caregivers’ relationships with patients and families within Commitment to Caring and Relationship Based Care.

Thank you in advance for your participation. Please email Meghan McCann with any questions regarding the survey, the webinar event on Thursday, or if you have interest in participating in this effort as a member of the Partnering with Patients and Families Committee.
