Market and merit salary increases for employees

With the full support of the UNC Health Care Board, UNC Hospitals and UNC Faculty Physicians implemented market and merit salary increases Nov. 10 that will be reflected in the Dec. 4 paychecks of eligible co-workers.

The details of market and merit increases for eligible co-workers are provided below:

  • Market Increase: The market % increase is based on your individual Compa-ratio (your current rate of pay in relation to your job class' market reference point). To be eligible for a market increase, you must have been hired and active on or before Oct. 27, 2013, and free of final written warning status or suspension as of Sept. 30, 2013.
  • Merit Increase: The merit % increase is based on your individual performance score. To be eligible for a merit increase, you must have completed your probationary period and be free of any written warning status or suspension as of Sept. 30, 2013.
  • Pay Deposit Date: The increase is effective Nov. 10, 2013, and will be reflected in your Dec. 4, 2013, pay check. Please refer to your Dec. 4 electronic pay statement, which will be available Friday, Nov. 29, for specific details. You can access pay advices online here.
