Rock band N.E.D to appear on WUNC, in documentary film and in concert - Sept. 20 & 21

Through a free concert and a new documentary, N.E.D., or No Evidence of Disease, continues their mission to raise awareness about women's cancer. The rock band, made up of musicians who are also distinguished gynecologic oncologists, will be around town in September to promote their new film.

On Friday, Sept. 20, a special screening for the documentary film on N.E.D.will be shown at the Varsity Theater on Franklin Street. The event will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and will follow with a screening of the film and a Q&A.

To learn more about the band and the new documentary about them, tune in to WUNC's The State of Things at noon on Friday, Sept. 20, when the band will discuss its beginnings and its decision to raise awareness about gynecologic cancers.

Lastly, N.E.D. will perform at a free music festival at the NC Museum of Art on Sept. 21 between noon and 5 p.m. The festival will also feature Birds and Arrows and Roger Gupton.
