Change to Inpatient Consult to Wound and Ostomy Nurse beginning Feb. 9 (Intranet)
Effective Feb. 9, the “Inpatient Consult to Wound and Ostomy Nurse” will no longer be available for selection in preference lists and order sets. The new workflow has two separate consults to distinguish between desired services: "Inpatient Consult to Wound Nurse" and "Inpatient Consult to Ostomy Nurse."

The incidence of melanoma continues to rise rapidly in this country. Increasingly, the management of the melanoma patient requires multiple healthcare providers. This course is specifically designed for a multidisciplinary view of the care of the melanoma patient. The course faculty will examine common clinical issues which often confront the clinician and provide information that will help in their clinical decision making.

Crane at Neurosciences Loading Dock Feb. 6 - 8
As part of the UNC Hospitals Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Renovation at the Neurosciences Hospital, a 500-ton crane will be placed adjacent to the Neurosciences Loading Dock for the lifting and placement of the new Air Handling Unit.

The Epic@UNC Training team is finalizing plans to help users prepare for the March 7 upgrade of Epic@UNC to the 2014 version of Epic’s software. Most training will occur via recorded Webex sessions available through the Epic@UNC Training Library, tip sheets, and drop-in sessions.

Surgical and procedural consents obtained in clinics must be scanned into the chart in a timely, consistent manner. A new process has been successfully piloted and is now recommended for all clinic areas.
