Objectives

  • Participants will review evidence based practice of labor support and position changes to promote physiologic birth and improved outcomes.
  • To succinctly identify and explain how increases in stress at the societal and nursing unit levels impact care quality and self-care in general
  • Outline benefits for nurse and patients of bridging outpatient and inpatient experiences through Centering Model Care
  • Discuss the epidemiology and pathophysiology of peripartum cardiomyopathy
  • Discuss the natural decline of fertility with age and the impact in the era of delayed parenting
  • Describe the different thyroid diseases which occur during the postpartum period
  • Strategies for alleviating "PCLS" (Post-Conference Let-Down Syndrome)
