Three cohorts of nurse residents graduated from the Residency Program in July, September and October. The nurse residents began the transition program in 2014 and completed their yearlong residency in 2015. They have been supported and mentored by all levels of nursing staff and a multitude of other professionals during this first year of practice as they have developed into competent professionals. During this time, they have focused on developing leadership skills at the point of care, utilizing the latest evidence and research to achieve quality outcomes, and refining skills needed for professional practice in their service lines. We congratulate them as they continue their careers here at UNC Medical Center.
