Aspiring Nurse Leaders Week

The week of Nov. 2 – 5 is our 8th annual Aspiring Nurse Leaders Week! This initiative was created in 2008 by your Shared Governance Nursing Professional Development Council.

This year we’ve invited the other shared governance councils to help us by each sponsoring a day. It’s going to be another exciting week-long event. There are activities planned all week. Click here to see a calendar of events. Thanks to the collective efforts of our shared governance councils, there will be something for everyone!

The highlight of the week will be our 2015 ANL week awards ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 1:45 p.m. in the 4th Floor Clinic Auditorium. Dr. Dennis Sherrod, Professor and Forsyth Medical Center Endowed Chair of Recruitment and Retention for Winston-Salem State University, will be our guest speaker. His talk is titled, “Nurse Leaders: Characters, Caricatures, and Characteristics."

During the awards ceremony, all of our service lines Aspiring Nurse Leaders of the Year will be celebrated. We will also celebrate our Inspiring Nurse Leader of the Year. This year we will announce the winners of the Fran Ross Memorial Scholarship and the Sandy Evans Scholarship. We hope that you’ll attend and support our colleagues in their achievements. There will be a reception following the event.

So, mark your calendars for Nov. 2 - 5. We’re looking forward to another exciting ANL week!
