On Oct. 20, many from the various UNC palliative care groups will honor those patients and their families, along with all of the dedicated clinicians working with them, by holding event at UNC Hospitals in conjunction with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, which occurs ten days earlier.

On Oct. 20, patients and staff will host displays from 9 a.m - 3 p.m. in the concourse between the Neurosciences and Cancer hospitals and will be available to discuss various staff educational and training opportunities, patient, family and public awareness materials, and demonstrate the many Memory-Making and Legacy efforts that our palliative care teams are able to provide.

In the weeks leading up to the exposition several members dedicated to advancing the pediatric palliative care efforts at UNC will host six viewings of “Little Stars," a video hosted by the BBC's David Suchet. Little Stars tells the surprisingly life-affirming stories of young people living with life-threatening illnesses. Against the odds, these youngsters are making the most of every moment thanks to the support of their loved ones, working in harmony with passionate palliative care teams.

Mark your calendars for Oct.1, Oct. 20, and Oct. 22.
