Chapel Hill Transit to detour routes due to street closures for holiday parade

Some transit routes will be detoured between 10 a.m. and noon Dec. 10 during the holiday parade.

Chapel Hill Transit will implement detours due to street closures for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday parade on Saturday, Dec. 10. The parade will begin on East Franklin Street at the Morehead Planetarium, traveling west, and ending at Carrboro Town Hall on Main Street.

The following Saturday routes will be detoured and/or delayed as a result of the parade:

  • CW - 10:10 a.m. until 11:44 a.m.
  • FG - 8:50 a.m. until 10:55 a.m.
  • D - 9:05 a.m. until 11:40 a.m.
  • JN - 9:45 a.m. until 11:33 a.m.
  • T - 8:15 a.m. until 11:40 a.m.

The Saturday CM route will be on regular route and schedules.

Chapel Hill Transit will make every attempt to maintain schedules, but is advising customers to expect delays and to allow extra travel time due to the parade. NextBus predictions may also be impacted during this time. Customers should plan to travel earlier than 10 a.m. and after 12 p.m. to avoid parade traffic.
