Nursing Quality and Research Writing Academy

Have you learned something about nursing or a health-related topic that others could benefit from learning about? Do you have an idea for an article? Sign up for the NQR Writing Academy!

Do you have a quality project whose results you would like to share through publication? Have you learned something about nursing or a health-related topic that others could benefit from learning about? Do you have an idea for an article but don’t know how to begin?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above the monthly NQR Writing Academy is for you! (Register in LMS using this course number: UNCHNQ&RWRITING-0002.)

Nurses' barriers to publishing include the lack of time, skills, experience, and coaching throughout the writing process. The NQR Writing Academy offers a structured, mentored approach to get you from idea to submission. Writing teams are recommended but not required. Each month will focus on one section of our manuscript and will progress in the following order but the process will be flexible, based on the needs of the attendees:

Feb. 5 - Developing the outline:

  • Purpose statement
  • Introduction
  • Evidence for practice improvement/background
  • Implementation strategies/methods
  • Evaluation/data analysis
  • Lessons learned/results
  • Conclusion/discussion

March - NO SESSION – See Research and Quality Conference Pre-session
April 1 - Purpose statement Introduction
May 5 - Evidence for practice improvement/background
June 3 - Implementation strategies/methods
July 1 - Evaluation/data analysis
Aug. 5 - Lessons learned/results
Sept. 2 - Conclusion/discussion
