2016 Elaine M. Hill Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service application deadline extended to April 1

Applications are being accepted for the Elaine M. Hill Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service. The applications deadline has been extended to April 1.

Nominations are now open for the 2016 Elaine M. Hill Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service. As a volunteer, Elaine M. Hill served refreshments during the opening of the N.C. Memorial Hospital in 1952. From that day until 1990, she was active in UNC Hospitals’ volunteer program - first as a volunteer, then as Director of Volunteer Services from 1967 - 1990.

It is our turn to honor the volunteer who best exemplifies Elaine’s spirit and service to UNC Hospitals. Nominations for our annual Distinguished Volunteer Service Award are due April 1. You may fill out this online application form and email to Volsvcs@unchealth.unc.edu or drop off the form at the Volunteer Services office on the ground floor of Memorial Hospital. You may also pick up paper applications from the Volunteer Services office.

In 1990, in recognition of her leadership, our annual distinguished volunteer service award was named in her honor. Elaine exemplified the heart and soul of the volunteer spirit of caring. Her commitment to excellence in patient care and service makes her one of the true heroes of this institution.

It is our turn to honor the volunteer who best exemplifies Elaine’s spirit and service to UNC Hospitals. Please share the link for the nomination form with your coworkers and ask them to consider nominating the volunteer(s) who truly make a difference in your area. Nominations are due April 1.
