The University will TEST the emergency sirens and Alert Carolina System on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, between noon and 1 p.m. The University tests the sirens and messaging system regularly to make sure the equipment and notification processes work as planned.
Coming Soon: IRS Form 1095-C and 1095-B
In the coming weeks, you may receive one or two Federal income tax forms, Form 1095-C and Form 1095-B, with information about your health insurance coverage for 2016. It is not necessary for you to wait until you receive these forms to file your tax return. While the information on the forms may assist you in preparing your return, the forms are not required.
TeamSTEPPS hits the ORs at UNC Medical Center
This fiscal year, TeamSTEPPS training of health-care professionals involved in patient care is an organizational goal across UNC Medical Center. On Wednesday morning, Jan. 25, more than 600 physicians and staff who work in operating rooms at UNC Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgical Center, and Hillsborough Hospital received the training. Kicking off the training was UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham; closing the meeting was a new TeamSTEPPS-enhanced surgical safety checklist that is now live.

On Jan. 27, 2017, President Trump issued an Executive Order (EO) limiting immigrant and non-immigrant visa holders from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen from entering the U.S. for 90 days, among other actions.

UNC men's basketball plays a home game against Notre Dame at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Expect delays going to and coming from UNC Hospitals and the School of Medicine.

Inpatient Providers: New 'Indwelling Urinary Catheter' order to combine three existing orders
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7, several new tools will be available in Epic@UNC to address CAUTI (Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections). These tools include a new 'Indwelling Urinary Catheter' order that will combine three existing orders (NUR380, NUR378, and NUR379) and impact User Ordersets and personal Preference Lists.
