Writing for Resilience, a weekly writing group, meets every Tuesday from noon - 1 p.m. in the John M. Reeves Memorial Chapel. It is open to all in the hospital and community. No writing experience is necessary.

The Center for Health Innovation has released the RFP for the 2018 $50,000 Innovation Pilot Awards. All School of Medicine and UNC Health Care employees from any affiliate are eligible to apply.
PTO Leave Sell Back Program Nov. 1 - Dec. 1
UNC Medical Center will offer Paid Time Off (PTO) sell-back election periods quarterly to employees. To be eligible for the sell-back options, employees must have at least 88 hours of PTO available. Find more information at this intranet link.

Ambulatory Providers: New Epic@UNC Medication Refill Protocols
Beginning Nov. 15 new Epic Medication Refill Protocols will be active to help improve the efficiency of processing refill requests for many common medications. These protocols automatically check the medical record and display some essential criteria for approval, following guidelines established by our EPIC@UNC Ambulatory Provider Governance Group. Intermittent Service Outages in Bed Tower Service Elevator
Renovations to the ground floor Bed Tower elevator lobbies and adjacent public corridors (refinishing terrazzo flooring, painting walls, replacing light fixtures, etc.) will require stoppages in elevator access to the ground floor periodically throughout the course of the project.

Dragon SQL Upgrade – Monday, Nov. 13
A scheduled upgrade to the Dragon SQL server will occur on Monday, Nov. 13 at 10 p.m. During this time the providers using Dragon dictation will be able to login and dictate with Dragon with no issues. The upgrade will take 1-2 hours to complete.

Park and Ride Permit Access to the Dogwood Deck
Annual Park and Ride permits are valid in the Dogwood Visitor’s deck from 5 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday - Friday, and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

On Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Case Cath/EP case requests as well as new order sets will be available. Cath/EP case request will now have a hard stop to address Implementation of Nursing Protocols.
