Update on Oct. 3 reported robbery on Manning Drive

UNC Police are investigating the report of a robbery that occurred on Manning Drive shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Oct. 3. Background on Oct. 3 reported robbery
A female was reportedly approached by a male suspect, who assaulted her and took cash. The suspect is a black male in his late thirties, around 6-0 to 6-2 in height, with a slim build and short hair. He was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans and left the scene on foot in the direction of South Columbia Street. No weapons were reportedly involved. This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information which might aid in the UNC Police investigation or anyone seeing suspicious activity should call 9-1-1 immediately.

  • Use the overnight shuttle services or the buddy system when walking to/from your car at night – if a shuttle or co-worker is not available, call Hospitals’ Police (984-974-3686) and an officer can escort you to your vehicle.
  • Sign-up for UNC Health Care’s new ‘SmartNotice’ emergency alert system by following the instructions you’ll receive by email on Monday, Oct. 9.
