TUG robot fleet to expand on Jan. 22
Since 2008, UNC Hospitals has utilized TUG robots in the laboratory, which make deliveries inside and outside the lab. On Jan. 22, 2018, our fleet of autonomous mobile robots will grow from 2 to 18 units. These TUG robots will assist our support services teams with delivery activities.
Effective Monday, Jan. 8: Visitor Restrictions Across UNC Hospitals for Children Under 12
Beginning Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting inpatients and inpatient waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals (including the Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Wakebrook campuses, but excluding inpatient Hospice) and are prohibited from perioperative waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals Medical Center (Chapel Hill) and Hillsborough Hospital.

Ground Floor Corridor Closed for Elevator Lobby Refurbishment Project
Service to elevators BT-2 and BT-5 will resume on Monday, Jan. 8. However, there will be access to the ground floor from elevator BT-1 through the duration of this phase (Wednesday, Jan. 31).

FastPass Going Live in UNC Medical Center Clinics – January 2018
In an effort to increase access for our patients, FastPass - a new scheduling tool, will go live in all UNC Medical Center practices in January 2018. FastPass is an automated tool that integrates with the Epic@UNC to monitor open appointments and notify patients when an earlier appointment is available.

Providers: New Order Set for CAR Hypothermia Induced Rewarming
A new Order Set (CAR Hypothermia Induced/Rewarming 3040000441) will be introduced Thursday, Jan. 4 and replace several existing order sets. Providers should print their own order set versions before Jan. 10, 2018 (when the existing order sets will be retired).
Outpatient Providers: Preferred Lab Entry Update
Starting Jan. 8, outpatient providers will be able to enter a preferred lab for patients in the 'Demographics' section so that if a patient’s insurance requires them to use a specific lab, this lab will defaulted during order entry. View a screenshot at this Intranet link.
