Sepsis Awareness Day at the UNC Medical Center

Performance Improvement and Patient Safety invite you to get inspired to STOP sepsis at the Sepsis Awareness Day event on Sept. 28. This year we have much to celebrate – meeting the sepsis organizational goals at UNC Medical Center. Join us to celebrate and recognize the frontline and support teams for their accomplishments!

This year UNC Medical Center will kick off the new Mortality Reduction initiative.  By June of 2021, UNC Medical Center will rank in the top quartile of peer hospitals for mortality index.  The continued fight to stop sepsis is a key driver to reducing hospital mortality!  

Just a few of the exciting events scheduled for Sept. 28:

  • Senior leaders will recognize frontline and support teams noon to 1 pm – refreshments will be served
  • Pediatric and Adult  community focused education
  • Play Sepsis “Wheel of Fortune” game to win fun treats/prizes
  • Simulations training for IV fluid resuscitation and more!

Sepsis Awareness Day at UNC Medical Center will offer fun, excitement and great opportunities to learn about sepsis care and the early warning signs to act fast to STOP sepsis!
