Gender-Based Violence Research Symposium
The 4th Annual Gender-Based Violence research Symposium will focus on “Creating a safe campus environment.” This year’s symposium will feature presentations from guest researchers, including Dr. Sarah Gamble from the University of California, Berkeley and Dr. Emily Rothman from Boston University, as well as UNC student and faculty presenters.

Healthwise Patient Instructions will be updated March 20
There will be an upgrade to our Healthwise patient instructions found through the Clinical References (or References) link in the Epic@UNC chart. This upgrade includes new patient instructions, new illustrations in patient instructions, patient instructions with medical revisions, patient instructions with title changes, and patient instruction enhancements.

Deadline Extended: UNC Volunteer Association Accepting Applications for the Employee Family Scholarship Program
The UNC Hospitals Volunteer Association is pleased to announce its second annual Employee Family Scholarship opportunity. Children of employees with plans to enter a health profession are eligible to apply to help fund their post-secondary education. The deadline for applications has been extend to Friday, March 30.
Three Clinics to begin pilot of making ‘Open Notes’ available for patients
Starting Monday, March 19, three UNC Health Care clinics will begin a pilot of making ‘Open Notes’ of patients clinic visits available via My UNC Chart. Currently, providers have the option to make an outpatient visit note available via My UNC Chart – in these pilot clinics, the new default is that progress notes will be made available to the patient.

SafetraceTx Blood Bank system downtime Wednesday morning, March 21
