You can now submit your Clean In, Clean Out hand hygiene observations directly from Epic@UNC using a new link in the ‘References’ dropdown menu in Epic@UNC. More details and a screenshot are available at the link.
New Professional Business Attire Policy, Effective April 1
On April 1, UNC Medical Center will implement a new Professional Business Attire policy. The policy is designed to create standards for professional appearance in order to foster a positive working environment, promote workplace safety, and inspire confidence in quality care service delivery. This policy applies to all personnel performing services for/at UNC Medical Center, including volunteers, research personnel, students, staff, and providers at all levels.

UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health presents the 26th Annual STEP Symposium - "Social Determinants of Mental Health and Recovery," April 6, 8 a.m. - noon at the Friday Center.
Employee Resources Groups Initiative Launch
Beginning the week of March 18, employees at UNC Health Care-owned entities and at the UNC School of Medicine will be invited to take a survey and attend information sessions on Employee Resource Groups. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is leading this initiative. The survey link and other information may be found here.
New Art Exhibit on Display in the Women's Health Education Center
The Women's Health Education Center displays artwork by a new artist every month. Pay us a visit this month to see gorgeous florals, oil on canvas, and portraits by Malgorzata Kamyczura. Her work will be on display until the end of March.
Zumba for Employees
Did you know that the Women's Health Education Center hosts Zumba on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week from 5:15 to 6:05 p.m.? The cost of attendance is only $3 per class for employees.
Go Play! Epic@UNC Playground Updated to Preview New Features
You can now visit the Epic@UNC Playground to preview new features coming April 6 with the Epic@UNC Upgrade. We recommend that everyone spend approximately two hours in March in the Playground, attending a WebEx, or reviewing training materials to ensure you’re prepared for the April 6 upgrade.
Free Head and Neck Cancer Screenings
UNC Health Care will offer free screenings during Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week, on Wednesday, April 3, from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Ear, Nose, & Throat Clinic on the 2nd Floor Cancer Hospital.
Change in Format to Printed Notes
Effective Tuesday, March 18, notes printed from Chart Review will be revised to specify the patient location in the header. The location will replace the patient name and medical number, both of which will remain in the note title as well as on the note footer. This update will provide clinicians who rely on hard copy reports with an indication of where the service occurred.

Discharge Hospitality Center Coming April 8
Located off the N.C. Cancer Hospital lobby next to the outpatient pharmacy, the Discharge Hospitality Center (DHC) will serve as a dedicated space for discharged patients waiting on transportation home.

Chapel Hill Transit's Saturday V Route Detoured from 8:45 a.m. to 9:14 a.m.
Chapel Hill Transit will detour the Saturday V route from 8:45 a.m. to 9:14 a.m. on March 16, 2019, due to the PSF 5K For Education Run/Walk beginning at 9 a.m. on East Franklin Street. The Saturday V route will be detoured along Cameron Avenue and will not serve the bus stops along Franklin Street during this time.

Our Carolina Care Highlight this week recognizes Dr. Lisa Jackson-Moore from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Friday Center Park and Ride Temporary Bus Stop Closure Begins Monday, March 18
Due to the repair and repaving of the bus loop at the Friday Center park and ride lot, Chapel Hill Transit will detour the FCX route beginning Monday, March 18.
ACC 2nd Floor Entrance Closed for Renovation
Beginning March 29th at 5 p.m., the 2nd floor entrance into the ACC building will be closed for renovation. Patients and visitors and staff will be redirected to the lower parking lot where they will enter the building on the 1st floor to access all floors of the building. The upper parking lot will remain open for handicapped access parking only.
Participate in the 2019 Multicultural Fair -- applications due by April 11
Celebrate diversity by participating in the 2019 Multicultural Fair! The fair will be held on Friday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Starbucks Outdoor Patio in the N.C. Cancer Hospital.
