Front Facing Staff Uniform Pick-Up – June 6 and 7
Uniforms ordered during the on-site fittings or online PRIOR to May 3 will be ready for pick up from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on June 6 and 7 at the Hedrick Building 1st floor classroom. A manager, supervisor, or delegate from each area must pick-up uniforms for their staff. We are asking to not have individual staff members pick up their uniforms to ensure an efficient distribution process.

Effective June 3, 2019, molecular genetic testing for ACADM p.K329E and p.Y42H mutations associated with Medium Chain ACYL-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MCAD) will be discontinued in the UNC Molecular Genetics Laboratory. Read the full memo here.
McLendon Labs Memo - Laboratory Diagnosis of Respiratory Pathogens - Changes in Testing
Effective May 28, 2019, the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory will change the multiplex molecular test it uses to detect respiratory pathogens from lower respiratory tract specimens. The new test is the BioFire Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP), which is the same panel currently used for nasopharyngeal swabs. Read the full memo for details.

Clinic Managers, Front Desk/Scheduling Staff: New Epic@UNC Financial Assistance module available June 5
UNC Health Care is enhancing patient's abilities to access Financial Counseling - starting Wednesday, June 5, a patients's request for financial counseling can be captured in Epic@UNC during scheduling or at check-in. Patients will still be able to request financial counseling by phone or via a referral process in addition to this new functionality.

2019 Medical Staff Survey Now Available
On May 28, medical staff members who have not yet participated in the 2019 Medical Staff Survey received a link in an email from "Survey Solutions" (surveys@advisory.com) reminding them to participate. This link is unique and should not be forwarded. The survey itself should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Please encourage the providers in your area to take a moment to complete the survey. Thank you to the more than 1,000 (25%) of you who have already shared your feedback with us.
