42nd Annual Zollicoffer lecture

The Office of Medical Student Education, Curricular Pathways invites students, faculty, staff and community members to attend the 42nd Annual Zollicoffer lecture on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 12:30PM in the Roper Hall Active Learning Theater (Roper 1101).

This annual event highlights the healthcare needs of communities across the state of North Carolina and the importance of pursuing innovative solutions to serve our communities. This year’s featured speaker is Dr. Kenya McNeal-Trice, Vice President for Board Relations of the American Board of Pediatrics, distinguished Professor and former Senior Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine.

A nationally recognized leader in academic medicine and pediatrics, Dr. McNeal-Trice’s advocacy has inspired change and earned her numerous awards as a mentor, educator, and champion for children and families.  As a pediatrician with a clinical focus on hospital medicine, child maltreatment, and mental and behavioral health, Dr. McNeal-Trice thrives in clinical settings requiring the management of children presenting with complex medical findings.  She prioritizes skills of teamwork to achieve desired health outcomes, while promoting family-centered care, collaborative practice, and patient advocacy.

The lecture is open to all students, faculty, staff and community members interested in healthcare.
