Future Scholars Symposium

The Future Scholars Symposium will be held on October 5, 2026, at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in Chapel Hill, NC in the Pagano Conference Room.

The symposium provides an opportunity for senior graduate students from UNC-Chapel Hill, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Vanderbilt University to present their research, engage with faculty leaders, and build inter-institutional networks.

This year, the annual symposium is sponsored by UNC Lineberger through the Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination (CRTEC) program.

The symposium will include scientific talks, keynote lectures, faculty-trainee meetings, professional development, networking, and recruitment activities. Graduate students will also learn about postdoctoral positions at UNC, UAB and Vanderbilt.

We invite all UNC faculty, trainees, fellows, and staff to join us in welcoming University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Vanderbilt University trainees and joining us for their presentations during the day.
