How to Succeed in a Non-Traditional Career Path

In this session, Keith Ruskin, MD, will share his unconventional professional journey as an anesthesiologist whose career has been shaped by deep engagement with aerospace and aviation. Drawing on experiences outside traditional academic medicine, Dr. Ruskin will illustrate how curiosity, humility, and a willingness to continuously learn can open unexpected pathways for growth and impact. This talk encourages participants to rethink linear career models and to recognize the value of nontraditional professional experiences in shaping meaningful and successful academic careers.
