John B. Graham Medical Student Research Day

The John B. Graham Medical Student Research Society is seeking faculty judges for the 2026 Student Research Day, taking place on Monday, November 2nd at the UNC School of Medicine in Roper Hall. 

We are seeking judges for both: 

• Poster Session (2:50–3:50 PM) 

• Oral Presentations (5:10–6:10 PM) 

As a token of our appreciation, your name will be included in the printed program, and you will receive a certificate of appreciation following the event. Judges are also warmly invited to join us for the dinner reception and awards ceremony, which will begin at 6:25 PM. 

If you are available to judge, please email simon_ellington@med.unc.edu with subject: Student Research Day Judging. Additional details and judging materials will be shared closer to the event date. In your email, please answer the following questions: 

1. Are you available to serve as a judge for poster sessions, oral presentations, or both? 
2. If you answered both, do you have a preference for whether you judge posters or oral presentations? 
3. Which of the following categories of presentations are you willing to judge (include all that apply): Basic Science, Clinical Science, Medical Education, and Public Health 
4. If you indicated being willing to judge more than one category, please rank your order of preference for which category to judge (e.g. 1st – Clinical Science, 2nd – Medical Education) 
5. What is your phone number for day-of coordination? 
6. Will you need a parking pass for day-of parking on campus? (note that UNC Parking is only able to provide day-of parking passes to individuals who do not already have a parking pass anywhere on campus)
