John B. Graham Student Research Day
November 12, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm
The John B. Graham Student Research Society is writing to ask you to save the date for UNC School of Medicine’s 54th annual Student Research Day, which will take place on Friday, November 12th, 2021. Historically, this has been a symposium-style event highlighting the research achievements of UNC medical students, giving them the opportunity to present their work and discuss it with faculty and fellow students. Due to the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic, the event will be held virtually, with breakout rooms for presenters to showcase their work via live video sessions. Student presentations will cover research projects in the fields of basic science, clinical science, and public health. We are additionally looking for faculty judges to help make the day a success. Judges will provide critical, formative feedback to students in the School of Medicine, which will help them further develop their scientific thinking and presentation skills.
The schedule of the day is as follows:
12:00 PM: Keynote Speaker: Dr. Emery Brown
2:45 PM: Student oral presentations
3:45 PM: Student poster session
5:15 PM: Induction and concluding remarks
The role of the faculty judges will be to evaluate both the quality of the students’ research and the effectiveness with which the students present their research.
If you are interested in serving as a judge, please use the following form to submit your information and judging preferences:

We encourage you to pass this letter along to other faculty members or fellows who may be interested in participating and supporting student research at UNC School of Medicine.
Thank you in advance for your support of Student Research Day! Please feel free to email us at JBGresearchsociety@med.unc.edu with any questions.
Sincerely,
