MHI Seminar Series presents Gabriele Schiattarella, MD, PhD

February 4 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

MHI Seminar Series presents Gabriele Schiattarella, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Cardiometabolic Diseases, Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC) – German Heart Center at Charité, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), Helmholtz Association, Germany.

Summary of Seminar:  In this presentation, Dr. Schiattarella will discuss how integrated experimental models — from humanized animal systems to multi-omic and computational approaches — are reshaping our understanding of HFpEF pathogenesis. Particular emphasis will be placed on how metabolic remodeling and lipid-driven stress propagate across organs through endocrine and paracrine signals, including hepatokines, lipokines, and inflammatory mediators. Drawing on recent work combining left-ventricular multi-omics, liver–heart axis modelling, and systems-level analyses, he will outline emerging mechanistic targets and therapeutic opportunities aimed at intercepting metabolic crosstalk before irreversible cardiac dysfunction develops. These integrative approaches bridge experimental modelling and precision medicine, offering a translational roadmap for tackling cardiometabolic HFpEF.
