MHI Seminar Series presents Jennifer Kwong, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine
September 16 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Summary of Seminar: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect; yet its developmental origins are often undefined. The Kwong Lab’s work uses new mouse models and human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes to show that the mitochondrial citrate carrier SLC25A1 links cellular metabolism to chromatin regulation during heart development and acts as a genetic risk factor for CHD, highlighting the potential for metabolic strategies to target the cardiac defects.
