Moving Forward Together: UNC SOM Fall Faculty and Staff Retreat

Come join the UNC School of Medicine (SOM) Fall Faculty and Staff Education Retreat, “Moving Forward Together,” hosted by the Offices of Medical Student Education (OMSE) on Thursday, October 17th, at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel. This full-day retreat is an opportunity for faculty and staff to engage in meaningful discussions about the educational mission, network, and enhance their professional development. The agenda includes a variety of sessions focused on critical topics such as the Translational Education at Carolina (TEC) 2.0 clinical phase redesign, strategies for promoting student success, and strategic planning for education.
Breakout sessions will address a range of relevant topics, including accommodations and career development, competency-based assessments, and modern tools for narrative evaluations. Participants can also explore pathways for academic promotion and gain insights into the medical school admissions process.
This retreat promises to be a collaborative event, encouraging all attendees to contribute to advancing the institution’s goals while building a stronger, more inclusive community.
