Orthopaedic Grand Rounds – Orthopaedic Surgery Forecast for the Next Decade: Clinical, Operational and Leadership Opportunities – Michael J. Suk, MD JD

Michael Suk, MD, JD, is the systemwide chair of Geisinger’s Musculoskeletal Institute and professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Selected to lead the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2012, Dr. Suk became one of the youngest people in the U.S. to head an academic orthopaedic department.
Dr. Suk simultaneously earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and his Juris Doctor and Master of Public Health with special certification in healthcare law from Boston University School of Law and School of Public Health. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill College of Medicine at Cornell University. He earned his Master of Business Administration from The University of Scranton.
