Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) 5K – Celebrating 55 Years of Service

UNC’s SHAC Clinic is the oldest student-run free clinic in the US. Join us in celebrating the SHAC’s 55th anniversary at the inaugural SHAC 5K & Health Fair on Saturday, November 12th!
100% of the proceeds will go towards SHAC’s free health services for our uninsured and underinsured neighbors in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. Whether you sign up for the 5K, donate, or swing by the health fair – your help and support is greatly appreciated!
The 5K starts and finishes at 7:30 am at the UNC Campus Y Courtyard located at 180 E Cameron Ave in Chapel Hill. Free parking is available anywhere on campus. Parking is also available on Franklin Street.

Participants in the 5K can register as either a Competitive (timed) entrant or a Recreational (non-timed entrant). Competitive entrants will be listed in the official results and be eligible for awards. However, all participants will be able to see their finishing times on a digital clock by the finish line.
The entry fee is $25 if registered NLT Thursday, November 10. Beginning November 11, the fee is $30 including race day. The entry fee includes a t-shirt with sizes guaranteed to all those registered by October 31. After that date the shirts will be given out “as available.”
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register beginning at 7 am on race day.
Prizes will be given to the overall first, second, and third place males and females finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
The 5k will be followed by a celebration with food, music, games, free preventive health screenings, and more running from 10-12 pm.
