The 3RD Annual Dr. Curtis Harper Distinguished Lectureship and Celebration Program

The Pharmacology Department is pleased to welcome Dr. Nii Addy for our 3rd Annual Dr. Curtis Harper Lectureship and celebration program speaker, to be held on June 7th. Nii Addy, Ph.D., is the Albert E. Kent Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Cellular and Molecular Physiology and the inaugural Director of Scientist, Diversity, and Inclusion at Yale School of Medicine. He is also Director of the Faculty Mentoring Program, Minority Organization for Recruitment and Expansion (MORE) and co-chair of the Career Development Subcommittee of the Anti-Racism Task Force in the Yale Department of Psychiatry.
In his research he leads investigations elucidating the neuropharmacology of drug abuse and psychiatric disorders, specifically examining the impact of cholinergic, dopaminergic and calcium channel mechanisms mediating substance use and associated mood disorders. In addition to his scientific work, Dr. Addy engages in important mentoring and outreach in both scientific and lay public communities. Dr. Addy hosts the Addy Hour podcast, discussing topics at the intersection of neuroscience, mental health, faith, culture, and social justice while organizing town halls with noteworthy leaders across disciplines including Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae and NBA All-Star Allan Houston.
We invite you to attend Dr. Nii Addy’s presentation titled “Integrating Neuroscience, Advocacy, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Tools for Societal Good” on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, at 3:30 PM in the MBRB 2nd floor auditorium and the reception afterwards. There will be multiple opportunities throughout the day for students and postdocs to meet with Dr. Addy.
