The CEHS, CEMALB, CRI and the IEHS present “Can We Build Respiratory Resiliency through diet?”

October 15, 2022 @ 12:15 pm - 1:30 pm

Dr. Emily Brigham is an Assistant Professor in the Respiratory Division at the University of British Columbia and is a Research Scientist at Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute as well as a practicing Respirologist at Vancouver General Hospital. Her research is focused on: (1) the impact of diet and other metabolic factors on respiratory health in airways disease, (2) how these factors may augment or mitigate the symptomatic and inflammatory response to air pollution and other pro-inflammatory exposures, and (3) ways to translate these findings into action to improve respiratory health, particularly within vulnerable populations.

This seminar is being co-presented by the Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility, the Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma and Lung Biology, the Children’s Research Institute & the Institute for Environmental Health Solutions.  This seminar is being held in-person in Bioinformatics 1131 and online via Zoom. Lunch will be served for attendees on site. Please contact childrensresearch@med.unc.edu for Zoom details.
