Workshop: Creating Resilience: The Relationship Between Creativity and Our Own Resilience

April 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

In the face of rising pressures in higher education, curiosity and creativity are more than aesthetic pursuits — they are vital strategies for sustainable impact and personal rejuvenation. This 90-minute workshop shifts the focus from “creativity as a product” to “creativity as a practice” for faculty and staff.

We will briefly explore how curiosity and creativity serve as vital survival skills and primary engines for solving professional challenges while simultaneously replenishing our internal reserves. Participants will engage in creative exercises designed to expand their impact and build immediate resilience.

Session Objectives:
· Explore how creativity concurrently supports impact and rejuvenation.
· Consider and practice creativity in support of our own resilience.
· Identify ways to incorporate creativity into our work with others (e.g., students, colleagues) to support their resilience.

Creating Resilience is open to faculty and staff. Following registration, you will receive a calendar invitation with event and location details.

The workshop is sponsored by the Center for Faculty Excellence. Direct questions to CFEMentoringDevelopment@unc.edu.
