Learn more about the Healer's Art Course, now in its 15th year at UNC, from Course Faculty Sue Slatkoff, MD, Amy Weil, MD, and course student alumni. Dr. Rachel Remen originated this course to address the loss of meaning and commitment experienced by physicians under the stresses of today’s health-care system. The Healer’s Art can help medical students find and hold onto meaning and satisfaction in their chosen profession. Sign up to take the course in advance or at the lunch. Space in the course is limited to 40 students.

The North Carolina Academy of Sleep Medicine is holding it's annual conference Nov. 2nd from 8am-6pm with networking reception from 6pm-7:30pm. Multiple UNC School of Medicine researchers and physicians will be speaking at the event, including Bradley Vaughn, MD, Greg Essick, DDS, PhD, and Flavio Frohlic, PhD. Research abstract submission deadline is Sept. 1st, 2019. This event is jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the UNC School of Dentistry.

We will be offering a free drop-in photography session for UNC School of Medicine faculty members and UNC Health Care advanced practice providers (AuDs, CRNAs, CNMs, CNSs, CPPs, LCSWs, NPs, OTs, PTs, PAs and SLPs) only in October. Non-faculty advanced practice providers must provide direct, clinical patient care in the outpatient setting in order to be photographed.

Join us on Sunday, October 20th from 12pm-4pm, for an afternoon of FUNdraising! We are raising money for our Patient Assistance Fund! This fund is used for medical devices, transportation assistance, and most recently grocery assistance. We hope to raise awareness around food insecurity issues among those living with Cystic Fibrosis and support patients who have an increased caloric need but who are unable to afford meals in order to support that need.
