The Aeroscout/MobileView system will be down from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 19 for system maintenance. This downtime will affect all entities currently using the Aeroscout system: UNC Medical Center (including Hillsborough, Wakebrook, SSC, outpatient locations), Rex, Rex H&V, Johnston, Pardee, Caldwell and Chatham. Aeroscout asset tracking, environmental monitoring, staff duress alerting, patient tracking, and patient flow will be unavailable during this time. Please follow your standard downtime procedures.

Dr. Jean Mankowski, PhD, will provide an overview of evidence-based strategies for behavior management in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Numerous examples of positive behavioral support strategies used by parents and caregivers will be shared. Learning objectives: 1. Review evidence-based behavior management practices for individuals with ASD and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. 2. Consider the overlap of intellectual and developmental disabilities and psychiatric or mental health disorders. How does a dual diagnosis impact behavior? 3. Discuss challenging behaviors seen in individuals with IDD. Consider how the function of behavior informs behavior management and behavioral change. 4. Provide parents and caregivers with positive strategies to reduce challenging behavior.

HPV-associated head & neck squamous cell carcinoma (HPV+ HNSCC) was unrecognized until the late 1990s, but since that its incidence has dramatically increased in the United States making it the most frequently diagnosed cancer caused by HPV. Most knowledge about HPV carcinogenesis comes from study of uterine cervical cancer, but several differences between uterine cervical cancer and HPV+ HNSCC led us and others to identify molecular differences that support a new mechanism through which HPV causes human cancer.
