The UNC School of Medicine welcomed the Class of 2022 to campus with orientation activities beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

The class of 190 students was selected from nearly 7,000 total applicants for an acceptance rate of less than 3 percent.

More statistics about the class:

  • The Class of 2022 is made up of 100 female and 90 male students
  • 35 members of the class (18%) are underrepresented minorities
  • The youngest member of the class is 20 years old, while the oldest is 47
