Miller receives health education grant

Dr. Paula Miller has received a $25,000 grant from the Alpha Phi Heart to Heart program to support cardiovascular health education to public school teachers in Orange County through the UNC Cardiovascular Health Assessment in Teachers (CHAT) program

This program provides cardiovascular health assessments and education to teachers to improve their own health, and also teaches the teachers to educate their students about cardiovascular risk and adolescent health modifications to reduce the future risk of the most common cause of death and disability in our society.

Dr. Miller is an associate professor, director of cardiac rehabilitation and director of the Women’s Heart Program in the UNC School of Medicine.
