Wicks appointed Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Integration

Bruce A. Wicks, MHA, FACHE has been appointed as Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Integration effective July 1, 2012.

Mr. Wicks was named after a formal recruitment process that occurred over the past few months was completed.

In this role, he will report to Cam Enarson, MD, MBA, Vice Dean for Finance and Administration and will be responsible for providing operational support for the implementation of the School of Medicine (SOM) strategic plan. Additionally, he will also have responsibilities for the promotion of operational and administrative enhancements within the School of Medicine and integration of services across the School of Medicine (to include designing and implementing SOM-wide systems to streamline operations) and with the Health Care System.

Wicks brings almost 40 years of clinical/academic group practice and hospital administration experience to this new position and has been intimately involved in the SOM strategic planning effort for the past several months.

Wicks will continue his role as Associate Chair for Administration in the Department of Medicine but will transition out of his role as Interim Associate Chair of Administration in the Department of Surgery effective July 16.
