Bulik study highlighted by American Psychiatric Association, international media

National and international media have picked up Dr. Cynthia Bulik's research on body image in women above the age of 50. The American Psychiatric Association's 'Headlines' newsletter also selected a recent study led by Dr. Bulik as their top story.

Dr. Bulik's study published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders revealed that 62 percent of women claimed that their weight or shape negatively impacted on their life. The study found that similar to adolescents, older women suffer from eating disorders as well. While some women say their body negatively affects their lives, others say they purged in the last five years or reported to binge eat in the last month. Read the UNC news release here.
