Program Evaluation Community Workshop - Raleigh

The Program Evaluation Workshop will discuss the purpose for doing evaluation and familiarize participants with the major types of program evaluation including process, impact, and outcome evaluation.

Participants will also become familiar with different evaluation designs and methods for doing program evaluation. Participants will then delve into evaluation objectives, strengths of, and obstacles to, successful evaluation, and developing an evaluation plan. This workshop will cover resources available for doing program evaluation.

Core Concepts:

  • Define program evaluation and understand the purpose of program evaluation
  • Identify different types of evaluations: process, impact, and outcome
  • Set clear program evaluation goals and objectives
  • List one - two evaluation questions for a program they are familiar with
  • Draft one - two questionnaire items related to their evaluation questions
  • Identify resources to for further development of their evaluation
  • Discuss ways to report evaluation results
